About Me
Professor Peter Essoh of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at University of Uyo, holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology, from University of Port Harcourt.
His Research Interests are Cultural anthropology, Social theory, Globalization and its impact on local cultures, Gender studies Social inequality and justice and Ethnographic research methods. Successes in research has resulted in highly insightful publications in Journals, Books Chapters and Conference papers.
He is experienced with supervising, examining, administration and teaching of courses such as Sociology of Education, Political Sociology Urbanization & Labour Migration, Sociology of Development, The Military and the State etc. He is the current Director, Directorate of Public Order and Information Management
He holds membership in Professional bodies such as Member – National Association of Sociologists and Anthropologists (NASA) – Nigeria Social Science Academy of Nigeria etc
He is Fluent in English and Ibibio Languages.
Professor Peter Essoh is a dedicated scholar and educator with a passion for understanding and addressing social and cultural issues. His research contributions and commitment to teaching have made him a respected figure in the fields of sociology and anthropology.
